M. LEIS FLOWERS LXIV (1977) rug by Miurio is based on artwork by a famous Estonian oil painter and graphic artist Malle Leis (1940-2017). Original serigraphy: Flowers LXIV (1977). Size of paper: 71×61 cm. One of the central elements of Leis’s work, both in painting and graphics, has been a continued interest in plant motifs and nature. At first glance, the flora depicted by Leis may seem simple and decorative, but deep philosophical reflections can also be perceived under the depiction of the rich beauty of nature, in which a leaf that sprouts in the spring becomes fruit in the autumn and birth turns into death. In these works, one can seek a depiction of the cycle of life and the mysteries that accompany it. This round serigraph was commissioned for a baroque palace in Poland, which was renovated in 1977 to serve as a recreation center for engineers. The request was to consider the light blue and pink tones of the baroque palace’s interior. This is a hand-tufted rug. Tufted using the finest New Zealand Merino Wool and Viscose. Handmade in India. Production time 8-10 weeks after final order confirmation. Available for delivery within 3-5 days. Material: New Zeland merino wool (70%), viscose (30%). Diameter 250 cm.
