Tallinn Design House celebrated its 8th anniversary

05.06.2025

On May 15, a lively and inspiring evening took place at the Tallinn Design House showroom in the Rotermann Quarter to celebrate the 8th anniversary of Estonia’s joint marketing platform for design.

“Eight is a symbol that represents both our anniversary and infinity – continuity, growth, and the enduring nature of creativity,” said Anu Lõhmus, head of Tallinn Design House, at the celebration of the showroom’s 8th anniversary. She thanked all the designers who have trusted the Tallinn Design House platform over the years and highlighted the team’s daily dedication to making Estonian design more visible.

The celebration featured a surprise-filled fashion performance by three designers, and musical entertainment by Uku Suviste and Katrina Merily. The evening’s central theme was self-care through fashion, beauty, and fragrance. Birico, New Life Studio, and T-Perfume – brands also participating in the Tallinn Business Incubator’s development programs – showcased their creations.

Brigit Usin, the creator of Birico, highlighted the luxurious and skin-friendly qualities of silk in her presentation. She explained how silk products – such as pillowcases and sleep masks – can contribute to better sleep and a fresher morning. “Silk is a special material – it retains moisture and is gentle on the skin, which means it supports the skin’s natural beauty even while you sleep. So it’s entirely possible that at 50, we might look like we’re in our thirties,” Usin said with a smile.

T-Perfume’s scent artist Tony Veiler offered guests tips on how to choose a perfume based on mood and the moment. He also introduced the brand’s new fragrances. “When choosing a perfume, you don’t always have to go with your favorite or signature scent. Ask yourself – what mood am I in today? For example, for the morning we recommend our perfume The Sweetness of Doing Nothing – a sweet and bright scent inspired by La Dolce Vita. Italians and Spaniards have their dolce vita and siesta, but Estonians only have work. That’s why we created this fragrance – to encourage people to appreciate the joy of simply being,” Veiler explained.

New Life Studio designers Tuuliki Peil and Eva Lotta Tarn presented their work, which focuses on upcycling. “New Life Studio was born from a desire to create unique and sustainable fashion using only recycled materials. I never buy new fabrics – if I get the idea to make a green dress, I search second-hand stores for the right material. It can sometimes be time-consuming and exhausting, but it gives my daily work a deeper meaning,” Peil explained.

Eva Lotta Tarn added that their new collection is inspired by the multifaceted nature of femininity: “This collection is a tribute to femininity. For me, it has also been a personal journey – an exploration of what femininity means and how to express it through form, fabric, and details,” said Tarn.

Tallinn Design House represents over 130 Estonian fashion brands and design companies, offering clothing, accessories, home decor, and gifts. The showroom is a place where timeless aesthetics, thoughtful design language, and a sustainable mindset come together.

A heartfelt thank you to our dear clients and designers who celebrated this joyful anniversary with us!
