13.03.2025

On March 5, Tallinn Design House officially opened a special exhibition featuring companies from the Tallinn Business Incubator program.

Visitors had the opportunity to discover five distinctive Estonian design brands: Birico, By Mer, Maari Soekov, 92 Layers, and Fluum. This unique collaboration between female entrepreneurs brings both warmth to homes and a touch of sparkle to everyday life. The opening event featured a musical performance by Lepatriinu.

Meet the Brands:

Birico – An Estonian silk brand where timeless elegance meets practicality. Founder Birgit Usin shared her journey into design, recalling how sewing dresses for dolls as a child led her to become a designer. She emphasized the importance of self-care and comfort, believing that functional silk design can help people feel their best.

By Mer – A handmade jewelry brand from Saaremaa bog stone. Founder Merily Pihelbu highlighted her commitment to sustainability: using recycled textile waste for packaging, ethically sourced stones, and recycled silver. She believes that every piece tells a story and encourages women to create their own unique narratives through her jewelry.

Fluum – Bringing industrial concrete into cozy homes with timeless interior design pieces. The brand offers candle holders, natural candles, trays, and vases for those who appreciate minimalism and durability. Founder Maret Kaska spoke about the uniqueness of her candles, which are made from Nordic natural wax and essential oils, ensuring clean burning and a healthier home environment.

Maari Soekov – An illustrator, painter, and graphic designer whose art explores magic, mysticism, and a deep connection with nature. At the opening, she shared how nature is her greatest inspiration, often taking walks through the forest to refresh her creativity.

92 Layers – An Estonian design brand creating mood lighting and interior elements with a timeless style. Founder Heleen Kurvet spoke about her vision of bringing color and playfulness into homes, making dark evenings feel cozier. She plans to incorporate even more vibrant colors and simple yet elegant shapes into her future designs.

The special exhibition is open for viewing and purchase at Tallinn Design House until May 31, 2025.
